Twitter Clock Makes The News

An alumnus from London College of Communication has had a piece of her ‘fantastic’ work displayed in the newsroom of ITV News.
Kirsty Greig’s The Twitter Clock uses a live feed of information collected from the social networking and micro-blogging site and displays the most ‘tweeted’ word every minute.
The clock was inspired by a project to create an object that records time in an unusual way and, in light of the increasing role it plays in people lives, Greig decided to incorporate social media.

NYT: Design Gets More Diverse

Designers of color are benefiting from these changes, not least because design is largely a meritocratic profession. It is tough for everyone, especially at the top. No designer secures a sought-after job like Mr. Boateng’s, or coveted international commissions like Mr. Burks’s, without talent, courage, charisma and determination, but they do tend to be judged on performance.
