I’m a designer and educator living in Washington DC, currently working as Creative Director at PBS News Hour

Kojo Boateng is an award-winning British-Ghanian designer and educator based in Washington DC. He is currently Creative Director at PBS News Hour and was formerly Design Director at ITN and ITV News in the UK. He has also worked with Capital One, Complex Media, NPG Group, BBC, ITV and Universal Music.

 Kojo is an adjunct professor at NYU Tandon school of Engineering and also serves as a mentor for the Connect 4 success mentoring program at Mercy college in New York.  He also is also founder of CRE8 Community and and host of the podcast Good People with Kojo Boateng, two self-initiated projects that support the work of  emerging an established artists, designers and creatives in the UK and the US.

In 2025 he received a Society of Publication Designers (SPD) Merit Award for the rebrand of PBS News Hour and his work has also been recognized with awards from Peabody, BAFTA, The Royal Television Society and Promax/BDA. His work has been featured in the Design Week, Creative Review, The Guardian, The Times and The Telegraph. His work for ITV News is featured in the book ‘Color Works’ authored by Eddie Opara and published by Rockport.
